Raw Material Selection: The Foundation of Quality
The primary material used in piston production is high-strength aluminum alloy with excellent thermal resistance. At DPI, we procure only certified and industry-standard compliant aluminum alloys. This meticulous selection process is critical for ensuring the durability and performance of the final product.
Casting: The First Step in Shaping
The selected aluminum alloys are transformed into piston preforms using modern casting techniques. Throughout this process, the metal is ensured to have a homogeneous structure and desired mechanical properties. As casting directly affects final product quality, continuous controls are performed at every stage.
Heat Treatment: Enhancing Mechanical Properties
Following casting, pistons undergo heat treatment at specific temperatures and durations. This process optimizes the internal structure of the material, enhancing strength, hardness, and durability. All heat treatment parameters are precisely defined based on the product’s design and application.
Precision Machining: Achieving Perfect Dimensions
Heat-treated pistons are machined with high precision on CNC machines. At this stage, the piston's diameter, length, and other critical dimensions are machined with micron-level tolerances. Functional features such as ring grooves and pin holes are also formed during this phase.
Surface Treatments: Enhancing Performance
After machining, piston surfaces undergo specialized coating processes to increase resistance to friction and wear. These coatings extend the lifespan of the piston and contribute to improved engine performance and efficiency.
Quality Control: A Zero-Defect Policy
Each piston undergoes strict quality control checks throughout the entire production process. Dimensional inspections, material testing, and surface analysis are conducted to ensure compliance with standards. In addition, randomly selected samples are subjected to destructive testing to verify durability and performance.
Storage: Protection and Traceability
Pistons that pass final quality control are stored under optimal conditions. Every unit is labeled for full traceability and logged into the inventory management system. This ensures rapid and accurate fulfillment of customer orders while maintaining product security.
Shipment: Safe and Timely Delivery
Customer satisfaction is our top priority, and our shipping processes are meticulously planned. Products are packaged in protective materials to prevent damage during transportation. All logistics are managed efficiently to guarantee that each order is delivered securely and on time—a cornerstone of DPI’s commitment.
